Ndikhumbule Ngqinambi was born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1977 and studied at Community Arts Project from 2000 to 2001. He participated in several group exhibitions, both locally and internationally and had five solo exhibitions in Cape Town from 2007 to 2011. He has taken part in several residencies in England, Italy, Algeria, Namibia, Brazil, Netherlands and at Greatmore Artist’s studios where he is member of the selection committee for visiting artist program. Member of Thupelo working and selection committee, he is also a trustee of Gallery EXE, an innovative project founded by Lonwabo Kilani.
His works explores figurative imagery within conventional format, where he deals with themes around challenges which push human life to the extreme. It’s more about indifferences, war and other clashes, and how humanity can prevail in the extremes of modern life.
